Cara Buono (born March 1, 1971) is a versatile American actress, screenwriter, and director. Raised in the Bronx, she is a graduate of Columbia University, where she remarkably completed a double major in English and political science in just three years.

She is widely recognized for her work in several critically acclaimed television dramas, most notably:

Stranger Things: Starring as Karen Wheeler, the protective and occasionally restless mother of Mike and Nancy.

Mad Men: Portraying Dr. Faye Miller, a role for which she earned an Emmy nomination.

The Sopranos: Playing Kelli Moltisanti, the wife of Christopher Moltisanti.

Third Watch: Featuring as paramedic Grace Foster.
