Charlie Kirk (Charles James Kirk) was an American right-wing political activist, entrepreneur, and media personality.
He was the co-founder of the conservative student organization Turning Point USA (TPUSA) in 2012 and served as its executive director. He hosted the podcast The Charlie Kirk Show. He was an ally of Donald Trump and a prominent figure in the MAGA movement, with his positions described as being within the conservative movement. Kirk espoused conservative stances, including opposition to abortion, gun control, DEI programs, and LGBTQ rights, and was aligned with the Christian right, advocating for Christian nationalism.
Charlie Kirk was born on October 14, 1993, in Arlington Heights, Illinois. He was married to Erika Kirk.
He was fatally shot in the neck on September 10, 2025, while speaking at a TPUSA public debate event on the Utah Valley University campus in Orem, Utah. He was 31 years old. After his death, he was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
