Dan Povenmire is an American animator, voice actor, writer, director, and producer, born on September 18, 1963, in San Diego, California. He is best known as the co-creator, co-star, and co-leader (with Jeff "Swampy" Marsh) of the Disney Channel animated series Phineas and Ferb, Milo Murphy's Law, and Hamster & Gretel. In Phineas and Ferb and Milo Murphy's Law, he also voices the character Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz.
He has worked on several other animated television series, including The Simpsons, Family Guy, SpongeBob SquarePants, Rocko's Modern Life, and Hey Arnold!. Povenmire attended the University of South Alabama and the University of Southern California and has won a Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in an Animated Program for Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe.
