Darius Rucker is an American singer, musician, and songwriter. He first became widely known as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the rock band Hootie & the Blowfish, which he co-founded in 1986.

After achieving multi-platinum success with the band, Rucker began a solo career, initially releasing an R&B album. In 2008, he successfully transitioned to country music, signing with Capitol Records Nashville. His first solo country single, "Don't Think I Don't Think About It," reached number one on the charts.

He has continued to have a successful career in country music, earning multiple number-one singles, including his Diamond-certified version of "Wagon Wheel." He was inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2012.
