Ewan McGregor is a Scottish actor born in Perth in 1971. He is known for a versatile career across film, television, and stage.

He gained international recognition for his role as the drug addict Mark Renton in the film Trainspotting (1996). He is also widely recognized for playing the young Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequel trilogy (The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith), a role he reprised in the 2022 TV miniseries Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Other notable works include the musical Moulin Rouge! (2001), Big Fish (2003), and his award-winning dual role as brothers in the third season of the television series Fargo. He won a Primetime Emmy Award for his portrayal of fashion designer Halston in the miniseries Halston (2021).

An avid motorcycle enthusiast, he has filmed several documentary series, including Long Way Round, where he rode from London to New York via Central Europe and Asia. He is a humanitarian who has served as an ambassador for UNICEF UK.
