Garcelle Beauvais is a Haitian-American actress, television personality, author, and former fashion model.
Born in Saint-Marc, Haiti, she moved to the United States as a child and taught herself English largely by watching TV. She began a modeling career in her teens, working with major agencies and appearing in print ads, on runways, and on magazine covers.
Beauvais is best known for her starring roles as Francesca "Fancy" Monroe on the sitcom The Jamie Foxx Show (1996–2001) and as Assistant District Attorney Valerie Heywood on the crime drama series NYPD Blue (2001–2004). Her film credits include Coming to America (1988) and its sequel Coming 2 America (2021), White House Down (2013), and Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017).
More recently, she has gained a new audience as a main cast member on the reality television series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (joining in 2020) and as a former co-host of the daytime talk show The Real (2020–2022). She is also an author, having written a children's book series and the 2022 memoir Love Me as I Am.
