Isla Fisher is an Australian actress and writer, known for her roles in numerous movies and television shows. She was born in Muscat, Oman, in 1976 to Scottish parents, but she and her family moved to Perth, Western Australia when she was six years old, and she considers herself very Australian.
She rose to prominence for her portrayal of Shannon Reed on the Australian soap opera Home and Away (1994–1997). She transitioned to Hollywood with a role in Scooby-Doo (2002) and had her breakthrough with the film Wedding Crashers (2005). Her other notable films include Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009), The Great Gatsby (2013), and Now You See Me (2013). She also published two teen novels, Bewitched and Seduced by Fame, by the age of 18.
