Jeremy Allen White is an American actor best known for his television roles as Phillip "Lip" Gallagher in the series Shameless (2011–2021) and as Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto in the series The Bear (2022–present). His performance in The Bear has earned him multiple awards, including three consecutive Golden Globe Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards.
He was born on February 17, 1991, in Brooklyn, New York. His parents were former actors. As a child, he initially studied ballet, jazz, and tap dance before deciding to pursue acting. He attended the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan.
In film, he has starred in movies such as The Speed of Life (2007), Afterschool (2008), The Rental (2020), The Iron Claw (2023), and Fingernails (2023). He is also set to portray Bruce Springsteen in the biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere.
