Vinnie Paz, born Vincenzo Luvineri, is an Italian-born American rapper and producer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He is the lyricist and a founding member of the underground hip hop group Jedi Mind Tricks and the frontman of the hip hop collective Army of the Pharaohs. He is also part of the collaborative group Heavy Metal Kings with Ill Bill.
His stage name, Vinnie Paz, is a reference to the Rhode Island boxer Vinny Pazienza.
Paz is known for his raw and gritty lyrical delivery. His style is often categorized as hardcore hip hop, underground hip hop, and horrorcore. He frequently incorporates themes of religion, war, politics, mythology, conspiracy theories, and the paranormal into his lyrics.
He launched his solo career with the album Season of the Assassin in 2010. Other solo albums include God of the Serengeti (2012) and The Cornerstone of the Corner Store (2016).
