Diane Lane is an American actress born on January 22, 1965, in New York City. She began her career professionally on stage at the age of six and made her film debut in 1979's A Little Romance.
Her notable film roles include the 1983 films The Outsiders and Rumble Fish, The Perfect Storm (2000), Under the Tuscan Sun (2003), and playing Martha Kent in DC Extended Universe films like Man of Steel (2013). She received critical acclaim and an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her performance in the 2002 psychological drama Unfaithful.
