He is widely recognized for playing the villainous character Butch Gilzean / Cyrus Gold / Solomon Grundy on the Fox television series Gotham.
He also played the recurring role of Hoss Cartwright on the modern-day reboot of Ponderosa and was a main cast member on the series Southland as Officer Richard "Dewey" Sanderson.
