Jason Bateman is an American actor, director, and producer whose career spans from childhood roles in the 1980s to acclaimed adult roles in both comedy and drama.
He is widely known for his performances as the sensible, often exasperated "straight man" in dysfunctional or bizarre situations, particularly his Golden Globe-winning role as Michael Bluth in the cult-favorite sitcom Arrested Development (2003–2019).
In recent years, he has received significant critical acclaim for his darker, dramatic work, notably as the money-laundering financial advisor Marty Byrde in the Netflix crime drama series Ozark (2017–2022), for which he also directed several episodes and won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing.
His other notable film roles include the comedies Horrible Bosses, Game Night, and Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, as well as dramatic turns in films like Juno, The Gift, and Air. He also voices the character Nick Wilde in the animated movie Zootopia.
