Perrie Louise Edwards is an English singer-songwriter and dancer born on July 10, 1993, in South Shields, Tyne and Wear, England. She rose to fame after auditioning as a solo artist on the eighth series of The X Factor UK in 2011, where she was grouped with Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson to form Little Mix—the first group ever to win the competition. As a member of Little Mix, Edwards contributed to six number-one UK albums and numerous global hits, blending pop, R&B, and dance influences until the group's hiatus in 2022 following Jesy Nelson's departure in 2020.

Raised by her divorced parents, singer Debbie Duffie and Alexander Edwards, Perrie has an older brother named Jonnie and a half-sister, Caitlin. She attended St. Peter and Paul RC Primary School and Mortimer Community College in South Shields before earning a BTEC in Performing Arts from Newcastle College. Known for her powerful vocals, blonde hair, and charismatic stage presence, Edwards has also ventured into acting, appearing in films like Pitch Perfect 2 (2015), and modeling.
