Raven-Symoné Christina Pearman-Maday (born December 10, 1985) is an American actress, singer, songwriter, and producer. She began her career as a child actress, first appearing as Olivia Kendall on The Cosby Show from 1989 to 1992. She later starred as Nicole Lee on the sitcom Hangin' with Mr. Cooper from 1993 to 1997.
She achieved massive Disney Channel stardom in the early 2000s as the title character in the hit sitcom That's So Raven (2003–2007), where she also served as a co-producer. This led to a successful franchise, including a sequel series, Raven's Home (2017–present), in which she also stars and executive produces. She also starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie The Cheetah Girls franchise.
As a musician, she has released four solo studio albums, spanning pop and R\&B genres. She has also spent time in daytime television, serving as a co-host on the talk show The View from 2015 to 2016. She is an openly gay woman and has been a strong advocate for LGBTQ+ rights.
