Matthew Ryan Phillippe is an American actor born on September 10, 1974, in New Castle, Delaware.
He began his career on daytime television, notably playing Billy Douglas on the soap opera One Life to Live from 1992 to 1993, which was notable for featuring a gay teenager character.
He rose to prominence in the late 1990s with starring roles in films like I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) and Cruel Intentions (1999).
