Viola Davis is an acclaimed American actress and producer known for her powerful and deeply felt performances across film, television, and the stage.

She is one of the few performers to have achieved the EGOT status, having won a competitive Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony Award. This includes a Tony Award for her work in the play Fences (2010) and an Academy Award for reprising her role in the 2016 film adaptation. She was also the first black actress to win the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her starring role as Annalise Keating in the TV series How to Get Away with Murder (2014–2020).

She is widely regarded as one of the greatest actors of her generation, with other notable film roles including Doubt (2008), The Help (2011), Ma Rainey's Black Bottom (2020), and The Woman King (2022). She and her husband, Julius Tennon, also co-founded JuVee Productions, a company focused on creating strong, culturally relevant narratives.
