Jonathan Houseman Davis is an American singer, songwriter, and musician, best known as the lead vocalist and frontman of the nu metal band Korn.
Korn, which he co-founded in Bakersfield, California, in 1993, is considered a pioneering act of the nu metal genre. Davis's vocals are a trademark of the band's sound, alternating from an angry tone to a high-pitched voice, and switching from sounding atmospheric to aggressively screaming. His lyrics are often personal and passionate.
In addition to his work with Korn, Davis has also pursued a solo career. He is a multi-instrumentalist who can play instruments like the guitar, drums, bagpipes, piano, violin, and clarinet. He also performs and mixes electronic music tracks as his alter ego, JDevil.
