Rainn Wilson is an American actor, comedian, producer, writer, and director. He is best known for his iconic role as Dwight Schrute on the NBC sitcom _The Office_ (2005–2013), for which he received three consecutive Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

Born on January 20, 1966, in Seattle, Washington, Wilson began his career in theater after graduating from the University of Washington and earning his master's in acting from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
