Vivica A. Fox (born July 30, 1964) is an American actress, producer, director, and television host.
She began her career on the television show Soul Train and in daytime soap operas like Days of Our Lives and Generations. Her breakthrough in film came in 1996 with roles in the box-office hits Independence Day and Set It Off.
Her notable filmography also includes starring in movies such as Booty Call (1997), Soul Food (1997), Why Do Fools Fall in Love (1998), Two Can Play That Game (2001), and playing the role of Vernita Green in Kill Bill: Volume 1 (2003).
On television, she co-starred in and produced the Lifetime crime drama series Missing (2003–2006), for which she won an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series. She also had a recurring role in the musical drama series Empire. Fox has appeared in more than 250 feature films, made-for-television movies, and television series, and has produced more than 40 feature and television films. She made her directorial debut in 2023 with the biographical crime film First Lady of BMF: The Tonesa Welch Story.
