Courteney Cox is an American actress, producer, and director best known for her iconic roles on television and in film.
She rose to international fame playing the role of the competitive and obsessively neat chef Monica Geller on the hit NBC sitcom Friends (1994–2004).
Another major role is the ambitious news reporter Gale Weathers in the horror film franchise Scream (1996–present), where she has appeared in all six films.
More recently, she starred in the TV sitcom Cougar Town (2009–2015), for which she received a Golden Globe nomination, and the Starz horror comedy series Shining Vale (2022–2023).
She began her career with early work in modeling and acting, including an appearance in the 1984 music video for Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark." Cox also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
